Practice
Field crops (wheat, maize, soya, barley, oats, alfalfa) are grown on fields near the school and used on the school farm or milled for the school bakery.
Vegetables are grown in the greenhouse, polytunnel and field: lettuce, radish, onion, spinach, cucumber, tomato and pepper under cover, and potatoes, cabbage and carrots outdoors. Students sow, prick out and raise seedlings.
In the school orchard and vineyard students plant, prune, graft and maintain the trees and vines; plant protection is part of all crop production.
The school has several tractors and implements with a workshop; students learn tractor construction and maintenance, take driving lessons and can operate farm machinery on their own.
Livestock practice takes place on the school farm with dairy cows, beef cattle, pigs, sheep and sport horses.
Professional placement takes place during the summer holidays.
